June 30, 2015 - Team Members at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC (HMMA) celebrated a production milestone today, completing the 3 millionth Hyundai vehicle built at the plant in Montgomery.

Hyundai projects newly signed nfl sponsorship onto its u.s. Headquarters
Jul 02, 2015 - 12:34 PM - by Hyundai Kia Forums

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., July 1, 2015 – Drivers cruising along the 405 freeway in Orange County saw a new look to Hyundai Motor America’s headquarters in Fountain Valley, Calif., this week. To promote its newly inked sponsorship deal with the NFL, Hyundai used projection mapping technology to display the Hyundai and NFL logos over a football field background on the west side of its headquarters. Hyundai’s headquarters faces a section of the 405 freeway that is one of the busiest in the state, with more than 377,000 vehicle trips daily, according to Caltrans.

The 250-foot-wide by 60-foot-high image is displayed utilizing 10 18k Lumen projectors and will run on the building all evening from Monday to Wednesday, June 29 to July 1.

Hyundai Motor America moved into its Fountain Valley campus more than 20 years ago, shortly after it began selling vehicles in the United States. Hyundai demolished its old building in 2012 and completely re-imagined the facility, which today is more than double the size of its predecessor, to reflect 500,000 square feet. The two-year construction project, valued at about $200 million, was a commitment to Hyundai’s long-term future, allowing for company growth and investment in the local economy.

Advantage International helped negotiate the NFL deal and coordinated the projection mapping for Hyundai.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., July 1, 2015 – Hyundai Motor America today reported its best June sales ever of 67,502 units, up less than one percent, surpassing the record-setting month of June 2014. Year-to-date sales of 371,150 represents a two percent increase and marks Hyundai’s best opening six months ever.

“With dealers equipped with the right mix of vehicles for the summer selling season, we eked out an increase versus last year,” said Bob Pradzinski, vice-president, National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. “Despite the SUV frenzy, Hyundai’s small cars continue to do well.”

The sub-compact Accent, recently awarded the highest honor in the small-car segment in the 2015 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, saw sales gains of 14 percent for the month and is up five percent for the year. The Santa Fe family saw sales of 10,446, up 17 percent for the month and the Sonata Hybrid sales were the best June ever with sales of 2,334 units, up 53 percent over last year.

KIA RACING SCORES BACK-TO-BACK PODIUM FINISHES DURING ROUNDS NINE AND TEN OF THE PIRELLI WORLD CHALLENGE AT ROAD AMERICA

Tire management proves key as teammates Ben Clucas (No. 36 DonorsChoose.org Optima turbo) and Mark Wilkins (No. 38 B.R.A.K.E.S. Optima turbo) earn valuable championship points

- Mark Wilkins’ dramatic last-lap pass in round nine on Saturday secured his third-place finish – his second podium of the year
- Ben Clucas’ opportunistic overtake in round ten put him in second place and earned him his third podium of the 2015 season

IRVINE, Calif., June 30, 2015 – Reigning Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) Grand Touring Sport (GTS) class Manufacturer Champion, Kia Motors continued its title defense at Road America, earning hard-fought back-to-back podium finishes in rounds nine and ten in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Mark Wilkins, pilot of the No. 38 B.R.A.K.E.S. Optima turbo, scored third and fourth place finishes during the doubleheader weekend, while teammate Ben Clucas, in the No. 36 DonorsChoose.org Optima turbo, scored a second-place finish in round ten. Both drivers struck the right balance between outright speed and tire conservation as their Optimas – the only front-wheel-drive cars in the field – kept pace with an onslaught of rear-wheel-drive sports cars and V8-powered muscle.

“We had some great battles with Andrew Aquilante in the Mustang, and I was pushing with all I had but also being very careful and deliberate to save some front tire for the end,” said Wilkins after scoring his second podium of the season on Saturday. “We diced back and forth a few times throughout the final laps, and in the process I was able to determine where I had the advantage. Ultimately, I was able to make it happen on the last lap going into turn... [Read More]
