...having to change the transmission? Forgot to mention the transmission is auto, although I'm sure if you can accurately answer my question you would have been able to figure it out :)
I bought this car for $1000 dollars with only 54k miles about 8 months ago, it had a lot of surface rust on the bottom from sitting for 1+ untouched years.. Originally the seller said everything was fine with it except it needed an oil pan, tires, breaks and rotors. Ended up having to do the wheel bearings as well.. But after driving it ( It's only been on the road for about 3 months) I started noticing that when in OD it would shift back and forth from 4th to 3rd and back for no apparent reason as my foot was completely steady on the throttle. It started to downshift pretty hard, making it jerk forward slightly.. not like letting off of a clutch too early but just a little more subtle I suppose.. Now as of yesterday, after the hard downshifts it is getting stuck in third gear. It won't downshift at all when coming to a stop, so my takeoffs are VERY slow and bogged down. I tried downshifting manually with 2nd and Low which seemed to work at first, but sometimes even when I put it into the Low gear it still only goes to second. I pulled over, put it in park and turned it off, and it seemed to be fine after that, until the hard downshift. (completely noticeable.) Before I was thinking that it might just be the fluids, the pan is pretty rusted and appears to maybe be leaking very little, but I couldn't say for sure. I was going to try changing the pan, filter and gasket and see if that would fix the problem but if I'm going to need a transmission I would rather spend the money on that first to get it done. Someone please help!!
P0442- This indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system.

P1624-Manufacture Control Auxillary output/input

P0734-Gear 4 Incorrect ratio

P0733-Gear 3 Incorrect ratio

P0722-Output Speed Sensor No Signal

Now I don't know whether or not to be excited that it might not need a new transmission...
