I have a 1994 Hyundai Excel and sometimes it will not start for no obvious reasons.?

I have had a new battery fitted a few days ago and that did not seem to have resolved the problem. Any ideas? No smartass answers please.
It seems to happen at random, without relation to cold or hot, sometimes it will be fine and running well for weeks, and sometimes it will just play up and not start up for a whole day, then start right up the next day.
Looks like Joseph C is having problems with his literacy skills...i said 1994, not 1984...and I also said NO SMARTASS ANSWERS please...i suggest a pair of new glasses or maybe a few reading lessons.

from horst-finally i found you,i have the same problem,changed all sort of things around the
motor,NRMA could nod help,did not have the right computer unit,the dealer did not find it,
it was starting ,while in the workshop. i have the workshop manul,but thats of no bloody
help. it has either to do with the petrol tank sensor relay or with the crankshaft position sensor c31 in the manual.noticed if i dont park level either way,it will not start.
but i am working on it. hstrecke@bigpond.net.au
