Hyundai Excel 'Head' gone?

Would like to know more information about what has happened to my hyundai. Not good with part names so will try and describe.

Checking water oil etc etc other day and noticed thick light brown liquid around the cap on the engine? A mate said my 'head' has gone?

Now i am not driving it but would like to know a rough price to get it fixed?
