My Hyundai Excel doesn't accelerate smoothly,any clues?

Hi

when i accelerate my car while at a complete stop. the acceleration is not smooth.It seems like the engine misses the push.This happens to me at traffic lights. This is a random problem but it has started to happen more often now.
it is 1996 model. It has done 115000KMs. I bought his car 4 months ago.

It sounds like a fuel problem,is it injected or throttle body injection ?
you may want to check the fuel filter which are normally hidden and generally over looked.

check your belts also,remember ,replace at 10000km !
