Hyundai Santa Fe 2001 - 12 hours?!?

Took my truck in for power steering repair, they say I should have my transmission seal replaced (?). Part is something like $14, but they say the labor is 12 hours!!! Good grief. Does this sound right? Please tell me what it is, what it's for and what I'm paying 12 hours for.

I'd guess your vehicle is AWD and it's the transmission pump seal or similar. I am sure it's labor intensive but that does sound like a lot of hours. I'd ask for a breakdown and get another estimate just to compare.
