trying to get engine code for 2008 hyundai accent?

im trying to figure out how i can get the engine code to display on a 2008 hyundai accent - i know some cars if you turn the key three times without starting a code appears so you can look it upa nd see why the check engine light came on- does anyone know how to do that for this car-- thank you

Hyundai does not display the engine codes on the dash. You need an OBD-II scanner to read the codes. As the previous poster mentioned, Autozone will read the codes for free.
