I know a guy who had around 200k on is 01 Rio before his engine seized. He was on call everyday and drove close to 100 miles everyday. Not sure how well he took care of it but an engine seizing up could mean he didn't change the fluids and oil as often as he should.
I think it's a decent car but for long commutes stay on top of the routine maintenance. Don't take any chances.
