My A/C went out in my car at the beginning of summer (waa..waaa!!!!) and I took it to a mechanic who put dye in the A/C system and filled the unit with the proper amount of coolant. Well, two hours later, my air was hot again and there was no sign of a leak under the hood. He gave me an estimate of $1,200 to fix the entire A/C system, because if the leak is under the dash, I'm better off replacing the whole thing. Problem is, I don't have $1,200 to spend on a new A/C. My friend told me if he could get under the dash to find the leak, he would replace the part, but I have no idea how to pull the dash out of my car.
