I am thinking about getting the Kia Soul. I am in college and need a car, but prefer to spend less than 20 K total. I have test drove the Kia and like it, but have just been hearing many negative reviews on how Kia is junk and will break down. The car does come with a 5 year bumper to bumper and 10 year power train warranty and from what I've been told, Kia has improved greatly in the last few years and it is comparable to better brands. So, my question is...should I get the Kia Soul? I plan on driving this car for at least 7+ years through college and graduate school.
If not, any other suggestions? I've checked out Honda Fit, but didn't really like the sporty feel of it. How about the Toyota prius? That is a lot more expensive, but is it worth it? Or do you think a Kia Soul is a good choice for a first car? Thank You.
