Went to start my car last night and had some trouble. I finally got it to start up, but the check engine light is on and my engine sounds weird. No loud clanking or anything like that, it just sounds like it's laboring. It's only got 40k miles and I've had 15k mile service and have always changed the oil on time. I do a lot of freeway driving, but haven't ever had issues like this before. I just need somebody with more car knowledge than me to help me brainstorm.
Thanks :)

well heres a few things that can be wrong,1 you may have a bad ignition module. thats that thing were your spark plugs plug into not the motor its self but its most likely a lil black box on the engine. you would have to run a test on it with an obd meter they run around 35-45 dollars. The problem can be anything really hard to tell till you test it.does it smoke or anything, and when u say it runs laboring what exactly what exactly in other terms would that mean.the best thing is have it tested and you will end up with a number my guess is it will end up being a p300 which is a module failure. good luck

I can attest to that. The Hyundai Accent's Ignition Modules of pre-2005 models are well documented to having faults on the spark plugs and sometimes the ignition lock cylinder.
