is a 2001 hyundai accent pulse generator internal or external to the transmission?

Hello all, let me just tell you first whats going on with the car... and then i'll ask the main part of the Q. okay so my mother bought the car to a auto repair shop, and they hooked it into a machine... they said that the computer said "internal error"... so i went to advanced auto and got my codes read because the car runs beautifully... except for the fact that the transmission slips a bit when going slower speeds. advanced auto said that the codes were PO734 which is transmission problems, and PO722 which is auto speed sensor. and i know for a fact that is whats causing this problem... my question is, where is it located on the transmission? there is nothing wrong with this car, and it only acts up every once and a while. its not a constant thing... and i'd like to have my father replace it if possible... but if its inside the transmission itself, he obviously cannot do so. so where is the output speed sensor located? is it internal or external? and also... is a pulse generator the same thing as an output speed sensor? thank you :)

It's been a while since I worked on an 01 Accent, and yes, the Pulse generator is what they call the output speed sensor, But your output speed sensor will be in 1 of 2 places.

It may be on top of the Trans, a small sensor with a 2 wire connector pluged into it. There will be another that looks the same, this is the input speed sensor. The one of these closest to the crankshaft is the input speed sensor, the one a little higher and closer to the axle is the output speed sensor. Should be a 10mm bolt that bolts striaght down and holds the sensor in.

If it is not this, the the input and output speed sensor will come together and you will need to lift up the front left corner and take that tir and plastic guard off. The input and output sensors will be connected and easy to access from there, they will be connected by a wire that runs up by the transmission mount across to the other side and has a connector right there on the front side of the transmission.
