I am currently in the car buying market and have all sights, hopes, and dreams set on the 2010 Kia Forte Koup SX. Unfortunately, my dad will not budge. He would rather co-sign for a cheaper car, which is understandable since my current income would make this car doable, but a little hard, whereas a better paying job would allow me to make the car payment and still be very comfortable.
However, a HUGE part of his reasoning is that he will not co-sign for a Kia, even if I got a better job. He hates the brand and has done nothing but bash me and my car of choice since starting this process. He is fighting me tooth and nail that the car will never be worth the price tag, and that "the only reason Kia has such a good warranty is because they know the consumer will need to use it since they are so shitty." I love the Koup and truly do believe that Kia has stepped their game up, but my dad just won't listen. He is using their Spectra as an example of how much they depreciate and he will not give this new model a chance, nor me a chance.
If anyone has personal reviews or experience to submit either about Kia or the Kia Forte Koup, please help me convince my dad to co-sign this loan for me, or please help me find a way to otherwise convince my dad that a Koup would not be the worst decision ever like the way he is making it seem!
This isn't about whether or not I have a job or money - I have both, thank you very much. I have $6000 to put towards a down payment. This is SIMPLY about whether or not my dad will co-sign for me so that I can get great financing at like 1.9% versus 22% due to the fact that I have no credit since I am only 19.
He has agreed to co-sign a loan for me...he flat out said he had no problem with that. What he does have a problem with is co-signing a loan for a KIA. I am trying to fix that part.
