Does anyone with a 2010 or 2011 hyundai sonata have any complaints/ issues?

Im thinking about buying a 2010 or 2011 hyundai sonata.

If you have an issue with your vehicle, dont have one, or have heard of an issue with it, id love to hear!

perhaps more on the subjective side, i read a lot about the Sonata in my research before buying an Elantra last year. common complaints are the suspension is "rubbery" and feels disconnected from the car over bumps and broken pavement. some have said it "bangs," and even Consumer Reports called the suspension "noisy" and somewhat crude. but they recommend the car, anyway. as said, that sort of thing can be subjective. some have called it completely "unacceptable" for the midsize class. but if YOU mostly drive on smooth roads and the highway, who cares? however be aware, some say you can feel it if you even "drive over a penny." yet others have no complaints. if you test drive one make sure to take it down some rough roads just to be sure for yourself

another big gripe, even from people who like the car, is the interior. as nice as it looks and is, it has plastic bits that "snap, crackle, and pop" with temperature changes. this is the sound of hard plastics expanding and contracting. essentially, responding to temperature changes within the cabin. hot day and you are cooling down with the A/C? popping plastics as they cool. cold day and you run the heat? cracking plastics as they warm and expand. this also happens in my Elantra, but that car is less expensive and in the compact economy class. those who buy a $25,000 Sonata Limited expect better. And even those who grab a $17,000 GLS. i read one review where the guy said he was embarrassed to have business clients in the car because of its "noisy ride" and "popping plastics." so he took a loss and traded it in. yet others leave the stereo up and the windows down and couldn't careless. but sure, thats an issue. look here:

the 2010 model, same deal. it should be pointed out Hyundai is not the only brand with this issue, but the Sonata is somewhat notorious for it

so far as the 2011? seems to be a higher quality vehicle. i've read several comment about a "buzzy" four cylinder engine that is noisy under hard acceleration, and some excessive wind noise at speed. also a too "firm" suspension in SE trim. otherwise the car seems a leap forward

the 2010 model has been reliable, as have previous year Sonata's. the new model is expected to be reliable, as well. but its too soon for stats, of course

I have an 07 Sonata & have not had 1 problem. Yes, the suspension can be noisy but only on really rough surfaces or some holes in the surface but for most driving surfaces, it is fine. Overall, I'm pleased with the car.
