Hello! I'm turning 18 next year but my dad's already looking for a car for me. He loves the new Kia Soul & we went to the dealer to take a look at it. It had really cool features & it was roomy but I don't know if the backseat will be roomy if I want to go someplace with my friends. Anyways, I've always wanted an SUV since where I live, there roads are not the best & there's bumps & everything + the floods that come & go but not all the time; an SUV is pretty high for these situations so that's why I'd love one. I also liked the Prius since the very beginning but, same thing, it's not "high" enough for these obstacles. Do you think a KIA Soul will be able to pass these obstacles? My dad's pretty picky when it comes to car brands and since Kia's made its way up & he's read some good things about it, he's looking forwards to this car. This will be my first car and not to mention, I'll be using it for college.

Will it be a good purchase?

I know some of the like mechanics or whatever you call them are kinda high in some cases where the car's almost like a Prius so when it comes to floods or anything, I'll be sure there won't be a huge amount of damages. For example, my mom has a 2005 (i think) Mitsubishi Outlander & when she's going through floods, the brakes are always a problem because they're close to the road or something like that.

If you have any extra information, don't be afraid to throw it in along with your answer.

Remember, my dad will be the one paying for it so I don't really want to argue with him because then he might not buy me a car at all & he wants to buy me one.

He is also looking into the Jeep but it's only because of the side molding bars or whatever they're called. The ones you put on the sides so that if a person hits your car with the door, it won't do a huge amount of damage or scratches..
