HELP!! Why is my illumination on my 2003 hyundai elantra gls not working?

I installed a new head unit in my 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS today... and now my entire instrument panel will not light up. the clock and headlight/brights, turn signal indicators, dorr open lights, ect. all still work, but the illumination wont light up for some reason. the dimmer switch was reconnected and everything. any ideas? thanks!

If you have removed the dimmer switch, check if the plugs have not being reversed with the one beside dimmer switch. I have seen this in the past and your description fits the problem.
