...make them for this car? The Elantra can tow 3000 lbs using a trailer with trailer brakes. U-Haul doesn't have them. Is there some other company that rents these? I'm in Florida.

Dude, you won't find a 3000 pound trailer with brakes. What do you need to move anyway?

you can mod on yes ... but you will burn your clutch brake a cam lobe or snap you crank. and yes damage gears and your spider gear in the diff and put so much wear and the splin shaft. cluster and the roler bearing. so rather get a bigger vech to tow more than 1700lbs
