Hey I have a 2002 Hyundai Sonata. Today my alternator blew out and the car was briefly driven on the battery until it shut down (trying to get to repair place without a tow). The alternator was replaced along with the battery. When I drive the car off the lot it had a rattle at about 30 MPH and the check engine light came on. I brought the car back to the place and they are looking at it in the morning. Any ideas on what it could be? I'm thinking that possibly the Cat burned the unused fuel and broke?
Sounds like directly under the body of the car like centered. Possible more forward though. Its not all that low its consistent (THUMP-2seconds-THUMP) I was also thinking some kind of damage from the tow but that dosen't explain the check engine.
