Will you get any valve damage on a kia rio if the timing belt is broken?

If it is a none interference engine you will be fine. If it is a interference engine on the other hand and you were traveling at high speed there is a chance of catastrophic engine damage, if it was idling it may just bend a few valves, which is less serious but still expensive to get fixed.. If you are not sure call the dealer and ask the service department if that vehicle is a interference engine, or a non interference engine, good luck

The petrol engine 1.4 and 1.6 yes the possibility of piston to valve damage, the 1.5 deisel engine is chain driven
