2001 hyundai XG300 alarm/ keyless remote problems. PLEASE HELP!!!?

I went to unlock the car with the keyless remote but it wouldnt unlock... i was going to open up the door with the key but didnt because i know that the alarm would have started to go off and with my remote not working, i wouldnt have been able to turn it off. plus i wouldnt have been able to start the car up neither... I came inside to change the battery but now the remote doesnt work at all... what have i done??? i cant open my car or nothing because the alarm will sound... should i take my car battery out for a while or something so the whole car resets or what??? this is my only means of transportation. please help me out!!!

wrong battery/position....in remote? positive/negative reversed?

shouldnt the alarm stop when you put the key in the ignition and start engine, after all?

the alarm will go off even though you have put key in door way? seems like there d be a disconnect
to the system when the key is used vs someone trying to pull door open/break in...

where is key set #2? all come w/two fobs/remotes...

the car uses only electronic signal for ignition? no hard key insert required?
