99 Hyundai Excel..Battery or Alternator?

I have a 99 Auto Excel, Twin cam. In the past few weeks on 4 occasions I have gone to start my car and the battery is dead, hence I have had to get someone to jumpstart me. I have had one person tell me it's a problem with the alternator and another telling me it's the battery. I have not replaced the battery since I bought the car in Oct 05 and don't know how long the person before had it? Can anyone assist a clueless blonde?

if you have a alarm system installed,go to a car alarm shop near you,
its possible thats the problem,other problem is the batterie,
depending on how old,replace with one of high current rating,
it helps with bad starting the motor.
