Both are excellent vehicles. People tend to shy away from these to brands due to their relative youth in the car market. They both achieve excellent fuel efficiency, and are thousands less than their competitors. The Hyundai Tucson is the better bet if you are looking for a softer, more composed ride. However, if you want something that rides a little sportier, get the Sportage. It's looks are more aggressive, and the suspension stiff, making it handle a bit better at the cost of ride comfort.
All in all, if you're looking for an affordable, classy lttle suv with beautiful styling, go for the Tucson.
If you're single and want more of a fun suv to drive, opt for the Sportage.
* All wheel drive models can be had for thousands less than, say, a Honda CRV for example. Standard features are great.
* If you choose the Tucson, only purchase the base 2.0 litre engine if your driving is mostly highway.
Hope this helps.
