my girlfriends key fob to her 2001 Elantra is not working... the light still blinks when pressing a button but it will not arm or disarm the security system. its a major pain because if you lock the car with the key it arms the security system but unlocking the car with the key does NOT disarm the system so the alarm goes off (stupid i know).
i have figured a way to lock the car without arming the system so that's not an issue. i just need the fob to work so she can use the alarm again
Any help would be appreciated on how i can solve this problem. i'd like to avoid going to the dealer to program a new fob as that is ridiculously priced.
yea i supose 8 years is a long time but my 3000gt has lasted 15 years without any problems at all.
problem solved, i was thinking it was not the battery because it was still flashing when pushing the button but that seemed to do the trick. i also had the old battery out of it for a few days before putting in a new one so maybe it needed that for some reason... thanks for your help anyways
