I'm in the market for a used car and I've always liked the tiburon and eclipse. I need an automatic between 3-5k dollars and preferably under 100k miles.although I love mustangs anything in my budget has alot of miles for a ford.
what can you tell me about these 2 cars especially about how much mileage you can put on them?
also are there any cars u would recommend over these thats similar?
lastly i found someone selling a 2000 eclipse gt with aftermarket exhaust for 4500, looks and sounds amazing but has 135,000 miles on it, is this alot for an eclipse?
Thank you.

135k miles isn't alot if the guy isn't a young punk who beat the shit out of his car. Although with an exhaust I bet he put some abuse to it.
just check out the car you're going to buy, is the exhaust super dirty - it burns oil. any oil on the bottom of engien - it leaks oil. Do a compression check is the best way to tell the condition the car is in.
These questions are impossible to answer as i've never seen the car.
for 3-5k I would buy a ford ranger, super cheap and somewhat reliable.
But for you're 2 choices, i'd pick the Mitsubishi.

in your budget i wouldn't go after one of these cars- all u get is high mileage and the parts on them are pretty expensive (so what you're buying you'll have to fix, hence a lot more money than you're looking to spend). do you have this money on hand or will it be financed? if it's cash, i'd look at putting it towards a newer model and financing the remainder. interest rates are very low right now and you can get better bang for your buck. my preference in car is the eclipse, pretty sweet ride if i can say so myself:)
