Is a 2008 Hyundai Tucson a good 1st car?

Im 16 and my dad said I have to get a used medium sized car that is around 12000 -16000. So i found this and it looks like a fairly good car to me. Anybody have any other suggestions or has anything good to say about the Tucson (safety, smoothness, etc.)?

16,000 bucks for a first car!? have you been living in a cave for the last 8 months? buy a car for a third of that price - maybe an early 2000 model of that car. you'll get hyped up over a nice car like that for the first few weeks but then when you flip it over a median like every other girl your age your gonna wish you didn't spend that kind of money
