I keep getting a 1529 error code displayed on my reader, which says is linked to an error coming from the TCM. I'm having a hard time with my truck's transmission. I'll be driving along just fine... sometimes for an hours, other times a day or days... running smooth and then it'll shift hard into 3rd (safety mode) and stay in 3rd until i turn the engine off and on again. Sometimes the problem will immediately repeat, while other times i'll go hour/hours/day/days before a repeat.
The engine light comes on when this happens of course, but will go off again if the problem doesn't remain. I replaced the throttle position sensor (OEM) to see if I that would help as I read that this can sometime produce the same issues. But no luck other than the truck seems to be running lower RPMs at highways speeds (don't get that either, but okay).
I've also changed the fluid. I'm also open to any suggestions (please-all are welcome! This is driving me nuts) of other things to check into before shelling over the $3,000 - 3,200 to have a new tranny installed.
