the tank. Any ideas? My KIA has been a great little car for me for quite a while now, but recently it's begun giving me a bit of trouble. Whenever I am finished pumping gas into the car and I try to start it up, it either won't start, or it starts but shakes roughly and idles too low to stay on. If I give it some gas, the shaking stops and it idles fine, but if I let off it shakes and shuts off. After about thirty or forty five seconds, it returns to normal, but I normally have to restart it about three times. I do not have this problem anywhere else, I can even start my car in cold temperatures in the morning with no trouble. It's only after putting gas in. Also, it seems like I've been getting pretty poor gas mileage recently, is there any possibility that the problems are connected? I thought for sure using some fuel injector cleaner would sort the problem out, but I've had no luck thus far. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks!
Yes, the check engine light is on, but I've been to the mechanic already where it's been turned off after the repair was done, it just came back on. It goes on and off by itself, but that's not the point. =P
I don't think it's the fact that the engine is hot, or that anything is hot, because I can start the car anytime without trouble regardless of if it's been running all day or if the engine is hot. And, I've already tried fuel injector cleaner and it didn't help.
The check engine light was checked, and when it was fixed, it came back on because of an Over-Drive problem, I'm pretty sure that doesn't have anything to do with this.
Thanks!
