I have a Kia Sephia, and a couple days ago, a "brake" sign appeared on

the dashboard after I started the car? The brake sign has a (P) and an (!) sign sitting on top of it. Every time I start the car, the sign stays there. What do these three signs: Brake, ! and P mean? Also, if it means that the pads need changing, how much should it usually cost? (Including labor and parts and inspection?)
